James Bond’s origin story is coming, just not to everyone at the same time.

IO Interactive has confirmed that 007 First Light won’t be landing on Nintendo Switch 2 alongside its other platform releases. While PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC players can jump into the action on 27th May 2026, Switch 2 owners are being asked to wait a little longer.
The studio addressed the delay via social media, stating the game will arrive on Nintendo Switch 2 “later this summer.” They were quick to frame it as a quality-focused decision, adding they’re looking forward to “bringing you the best game experience possible across all platforms.”

Not exactly a surprise, given the delay had already been telegraphed by leaker ‘Graczdari‘, the same source who previously called release dates for Starfield and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 on PlayStation, and correctly flagged the existence of a boxed Oblivion Remastered edition.
007 First Light Lore
007 First Light is a reimagined origin story for James Bond, think stealth missions, explosive gunfights, and high-pressure spy scenarios. IO Interactive describes it as “the ultimate test of your skills,” which sounds very on-brand for the studio behind the Hitman series.
PC players also have their system requirements to dig into ahead of the May launch, with a GTX 1660 recommended at minimum for 1080p/30fps.

Switch 2 players will just have to hold tight.
