The wait for a new Fable has already been long enough. So when delay rumours started circulating out of nowhere, the community’s patience understandably started to wear a little thin.

Speculation suggested Fable could be pushed back to 2027, partly to avoid going head-to-head with GTA 6 and a crowded end-of-year release window. Jeff Grubb had weighed in on the chatter, hinting that some internal scheduling shifts may have taken place, which only added fuel to the fire.
The response that settled the Fable delay rumour
On 13th April, the official X account responded to a fan post sharing a stunning in-game screenshot. The reply was brief but telling: “Excited to welcome you back to Albion in Autumn 2026.”
That’s about as close to an official confirmation as you’re going to get without a formal press release.
A minor internal shuffle may have happened behind the scenes, but a full delay to 2027 appears well off the table. The game remains on course for a Q3 or Q4 2026 release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Albion isn’t going anywhere, and honestly, it’s about time.
