ASUS Republic of Gamers has officially announced the new ROG NUC 16, a compact gaming PC designed for gamers, creators, and AI users who want strong performance in a very small form factor. Despite its compact three-litre size, the new system packs some of the latest high-end hardware from Intel and NVIDIA.

The ROG NUC 16 comes with up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus processor alongside up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 Laptop GPU. According to ASUS, the new model delivers better gaming performance compared to the previous generation ROG NUC. It also supports up to 128 GB DDR5-6400 memory, helping games and heavy software run more smoothly.

The compact PC also focuses heavily on AI features. With support for NVIDIA DLSS 4.5, users can expect smoother gameplay, lower latency, and improved image quality in supported games. ASUS says the system can generate up to five additional AI-generated frames for every rendered frame, improving the overall gaming experience in demanding AAA titles.

For creative users, the ROG NUC 16 supports NVIDIA Studio features for tasks such as video editing, image generation, and real-time rendering. ASUS also claims the system can handle up to 8K creative workloads. The device offers up to 1334 AI TOPS and includes 16 GB of dedicated GDDR7 memory, making it suitable for local AI tasks and LLM workloads.

Cooling has also received major improvements. The system uses a new QuietFlow cooling setup with three fans and a dual vapor chamber. ASUS says the updated thermal design improves CPU cooling coverage by 12 percent. The company also added a dedicated SSD heatsink, reducing SSD temperatures from 72°C to 59°C during heavy workloads.

Even under full load, ASUS claims the ROG NUC 16 stays below 38 dBA, which is close to the noise level of a quiet library. This should help users enjoy gaming or creative work without loud fan noise.

One of the standout changes is the new Moonlight White Edition, which is the first white version in the ROG NUC series. The system features a metal chassis and includes a removable stand that allows both vertical and horizontal placement depending on the setup.

The ROG NUC 16 also supports up to five 4K displays and includes Thunderbolt 4 connectivity for fast external storage support. ASUS has also included GlideX, allowing users to share and control screens across multiple devices using wired or wireless connections.
