It hasn’t even been two months since launch, and Sucker Punch has already drawn a line under Ghost of Yotei: Legends.
In a recent blog post, the studio confirmed that The Raid, which arrived as the mode’s first and only Raid, was the last major update they had planned for Legends. “It finishes the story of the Yōtei Six in that mode,” the team wrote, adding that watching players engage with it in real time has been genuinely rewarding.

Ghost of Yotei: Legends mode was built around one big swing
Lead Designer Darren Bridges described the original pitch for The Raid as “an escape room where people are trying to kill you,” which, honestly, sounds about right for how it plays. There’s clearly a lot of craft that went into it, and the blog post reflects a team proud of what they built.
But the timing is hard to ignore. Ghost of Tsushima’s Legends mode received updates for a year and a half. Yotei’s equivalent is wrapping up its story after roughly seven weeks.
It’s worth noting that the end of major updates doesn’t necessarily mean the mode goes dark entirely. Whether smaller patches or seasonal tweaks follow remains to be seen.

Still, for players who were hoping that Ghost of Yotei: Legends would grow into something bigger, this is a quiet disappointment. We will keep an eye on any further announcements.
