At this point, Strauss Zelnick might as well have “November 19” tattooed somewhere. The Take-Two CEO has once again publicly confirmed that GTA 6 is releasing on that date in 2026, and he’s doing it with a confidence that’s hard to ignore.
Speaking to David Senra, Zelnick was asked how far back GTA 6 had slipped from its original window. His answer? Roughly 18 months. Not nothing, but for the most anticipated game in a generation, it could’ve been far worse.
The most valuable entertainment IP ever made
Zelnick also weighed in on where GTA sits among gaming’s all-time greats. He stopped short of a clean declaration, variables like how you count franchise entries make it complicated, but said most people in the industry believe Grand Theft Auto is the most valuable entertainment IP ever created. Full stop.
That includes Mario. That includes Call of Duty. Quite the statement.
GTA 5 still pulling its weight
Asked why GTA 5 keeps drawing players more than a decade on, Zelnick put it simply, the content keeps coming, and people genuinely connect through it. Online gaming is social, and Rockstar has kept that feeling alive longer than almost anyone else.

GTA 6 launches on November 19. Whether it holds is another matter, but right now, everything points to go.
