Oblivion Remastered’s Switch 2 release date is finally here

Oblivion Remastered

Bethesda has finally given Oblivion Remastered a Switch 2 release date, and they announced it using the most annoying character in the whole game.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered release date trailer

The new trailer confirms August 11, 2026. That closes out the wait since the port was first teased earlier this year. Instead of a normal showcase, the video is built entirely around the Adoring Fan, the superfan who follows you everywhere and comments on every mistake you make. Watching him slowly figure out that the only way to shut himself up is to actually play the game is a genuinely funny way to sell a re-release. Bethesda clearly knows how annoying this character is, and they’re leaning into it.

Past the joke, the Switch 2 version does bring a few real changes. Motion controls are included, likely for combat and exploration, though it’s hard to say how well that will work until people actually try it. The remaster keeps its updated character models, weapons, and combat animations from the original release. It also includes everything: Shivering Isles, Knights of the Nine, and the full list of Oblivion DLC, sweet rolls and Horse Armor Pack included.

Two months isn’t a long wait, but with the game already past nine million players, Switch 2 owners are joining pretty late. Fashionably late, as always.
