1047 Games is done actively developing Empulse and Splitgate: Arena Reloaded. From 3 September, both games move to peer-to-peer hosting because, in the studio’s own words, neither is making enough money to justify the server costs.
That’s the blunt reality of live service gaming in 2026. If a game isn’t printing money, it doesn’t get to keep its servers.

1047 Games says it’s not new to this problem. When the original Splitgate’s dedicated servers went dark last year, the studio moved it to peer-to-peer instead of pulling the plug entirely, and it’s still playable now, console included. That same fix is coming to Empulse and Arena Reloaded.
1047 Games gives Empulse a send-off map and a price cut
Empulse isn’t just losing its servers quietly. It’s getting one final map before development wraps, plus a price drop across all regions, though 1047 hasn’t said how much yet.
The numbers explain why. Empulse launched in late June 2026 at $19.99 on Steam, still in Early Access, and as of writing it’s sitting at just 204 concurrent players with an all-time total of 2,860 on Steam. That’s not a launch that pays for dedicated infrastructure.

1047 Games says its next decade won’t look like its last one. After ten years chasing live service shooters, the studio’s future projects might look completely different. Whatever comes next, don’t expect another Splitgate clone.
