Fable devs reveal the reboot's main story will run 15-20 hours, with just as much side content and endless life systems on top.

If you’ve been wondering how much game you’re actually getting with the Fable Reboot, we finally have numbers. During a Gamescom 2026 Q&A, the developers told Polygon that the main campaign sits at roughly 15-20 hours, with a similar amount of side quests and open-world stuff layered on top.

How long is Fable, really?

The devs put it simply: “We have around 15-20 hours of mainline quest gameplay, and we have around 15-20 hours of side and open-world exploration content gameplay. And then, of course, the life systems are limitless, so you can play them for as long as you want.” So call it 30-40 hours if you’re doing everything, and basically endless if you fall down the life-sim rabbit hole.

That’s a solid chunk of game for a title that’s also making history as the first to land on PlayStation, not just Xbox. It fits the pattern too; Xbox has been softening its stance on exclusivity lately, though don’t expect that to stretch to something like The Elder Scrolls 6 any time soon.

Twenty hours of story and a life system you could lose weeks to. It’s not trying to be a quick weekend game.
