Ubisoft might not be done with Watch Dogs just yet. A new rumour claims a Watch Dogs: Legion Director’s Cut is on the way, and I’m cautiously curious.
Ubisoft is aiming for the first half of next year. That’s the whole story so far. Nobody knows what the Director’s Cut will actually add, and Ubisoft hasn’t said a word. So treat all of this as a rumour until the publisher speaks up.
That missing detail is the big question, because Legion’s biggest problem was always the story. If the Director’s Cut finally fixes that, I’m in. If it’s just a shiny re-release with a fancy name, I’ll pass.

It would also be a bit odd for Ubisoft to do this now. Bloodline brought back Aiden Pearce and Wrench, and updates wrapped up in 2021 after an Assassin’s Creed crossover. A Director’s Cut could be a neat way to bundle all of that together.
The Watch Dogs film is still alive too
The franchise isn’t only showing signs of life in games. The film adaptation at Regency Enterprises wrapped filming in September 2024, with some reshoots in mid-2025. Star Tom Blyth has praised the script, and it’s reportedly an original story. There’s still no release date.

So Watch Dogs fans might get a Director’s Cut and a movie. Let’s hope at least one of them lands properly.
