Xbox shook up its structure last month, and Undead Labs came out of it independent. I’ll admit that made me nervous about the schedule. Turns out I needn’t have worried, because the State of Decay 3 beta is on its way.
The developers confirmed it in a message on the game’s official Discord. They just need to make a few final tweaks to the build. The exact date should be announced in the coming days.

PC first, consoles later
Here’s the catch. Just like the alpha, the first round of the State of Decay 3 beta is PC only. PS5 and Xbox players will get access later, though no date has been given. That’s annoying if you’re on console, but it’s the same pattern as last time, so it’s hardly a shock.
If you’re on PC and want in, you can sign up for the waitlist on the official playtest page. Signing up probably doesn’t guarantee a spot, so don’t clear your weekend just yet.

State of Decay 3 beta lets players try the new mechanics and systems added for this entry. That’s the bit I care about, because it’s the first real look at how the game plays. Fingers crossed it’s good.
