Pearl Abyss might not be done with Crimson Desert just yet, and we’re not just talking about updates.
Expansions on the Horizon
In its latest earnings release, Pearl Abyss outlined its ‘New Pipelines and Growth Strategy’ for Crimson Desert, and DLC is firmly in the conversation. The developer stated its immediate priority remains “enhancing user satisfaction and driving new sales through continuous updates,” but broadening the game through additional content is also being explored as a route forward.
Exact details are being kept close to the chest for now, with Pearl Abyss noting further information will be shared “once the concrete plans are set.” So don’t expect a full announcement just yet.

Platform expansion also mentioned
Alongside DLC, Pearl Abyss referenced a potential ‘Platform Expansion’ for Crimson Desert. No specifics were given, though with the Nintendo Switch 2 now on the market, speculation is already swirling.
The studio also touched on its upcoming titles, DokeV and Plan 8. Pearl Abyss reaffirmed its goal of releasing a new game every two to three years, with resources being redirected toward DokeV to speed up development. DokeV is currently in pre-production, while Plan 8 remains at the conceptualisation stage.

It’s been a busy period for Crimson Desert, the game has received major post-launch updates, and Pearl Abyss recently discussed its player-first approach to feedback. A DLC announcement, whenever it comes, would only add to the momentum.
