It wasn’t long ago that Pearl Abyss said it was considering DLC for Crimson Desert. A few weeks on, and that consideration has apparently turned into a full green light.
From “Maybe” to “Definitely”
The studio has shared its development roadmap covering June through to September, and tucked in alongside the planned title updates is a confirmation that Crimson Desert DLC is officially in the works. Pearl Abyss hasn’t gone into specifics yet, noting that details will be shared further down the line, most likely once the current roadmap content has shipped.
What they did offer is that the DLC will be “a meaningful addition to your journey”, which is a fairly broad promise. It could mean a new story arc, a fresh area to explore, or possibly even a new playable character. Crimson Desert is a big game with a lot of room to expand, so the options are genuinely wide open at this point.

Paid or Free?
That’s the question most players will be asking, and it remains unanswered for now. Given that the previous updates, which covered difficulty adjustments and endgame content, were free, the specific use of the word “DLC” does suggest this one might cost something. That’s speculation for the moment, though.

More news is expected once Pearl Abyss clears the current roadmap later in the summer.
