8BitDo has launched two new special-edition controllers to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Tomb Raider. The new 8BitDo Tomb Raider controller collection combines classic Lara Croft designs with modern gaming features.
The collection includes the 8BitDo Pro 3 Bluetooth Gamepad and the 8BitDo Ultimate 3 Controller for Xbox. Both models feature custom designs inspired by the Tomb Raider series, while their internal hardware remains similar to the standard versions.
The new controllers are designed for fans who want a Tomb Raider-themed gamepad without giving up features such as TMR joysticks and Hall-effect triggers.
8BitDo Tomb Raider controller celebrates Lara Croft
The Tomb Raider Anniversary Edition Pro 3 takes its design directly from the original Tomb Raider game, with details inspired by Lara Croft and the Lost Valley level.
The controller uses TMR joysticks and Hall-effect triggers for precise control. It also comes with magnetic ABXY button toppers that can be swapped to customize the controller.
For this special edition, 8BitDo adds green and gold joystick toppers to match the Tomb Raider theme. The Pro 3 also supports multiple platforms and includes six-axis motion control.
The second model is the Tomb Raider Anniversary Edition Ultimate 3 Controller for Xbox. Its design takes inspiration from both the classic and modern versions of Lara Croft.
The Ultimate 3 offers several features aimed at gamers who want more control. It comes with TMR joysticks with adjustable tension, while its Hall-effect triggers support dual-stop functionality.
There are also additional L4 and R4 bumpers that can be used for extra controls. The controller supports 2.4 GHz wireless connectivity, with the wireless dongle stored inside its charging dock.
Other features include a 3.5 mm headphone jack for audio passthrough and six-axis motion control when the controller is used with a PC.
Price and availability
The Tomb Raider Anniversary Edition Pro 3 Bluetooth Gamepad is priced at $79.99. It is available through the 8BitDo online store and Amazon.
The Tomb Raider Anniversary Edition Ultimate 3 Controller for Xbox costs $119.99 and is available exclusively through the 8BitDo store.
Both controllers are scheduled to start shipping on October 24.
The new 8BitDo Tomb Raider controller models give fans two different ways to celebrate 30 years of Tomb Raider. While the main difference is their design and feature set, both editions keep the modern hardware and customization options found in 8BitDo’s current controller lineup.
