GTA 6 Pre-Load Starts November 10 With a Huge 212 GB Download

GTA 6 pre-load starts November 10, giving players early access to a download of up to 212 GB ahead of its November 19 launch.

Rockstar Games has shared exciting news for players waiting for Grand Theft Auto 6. The GTA 6 pre-load will now begin on November 10, two days earlier than previously announced. Players will also need plenty of free storage, as GTA 6 could take up to 212 GB of space on supported consoles.

The early download will give players more time to prepare for the game’s official release on November 19. With the file size now confirmed, console owners should check their available storage before the pre-load begins.

GTA 6 Pre-Load Date Moved Forward

According to Rockstar Games’ updated information, digital pre-orders for GTA 6 can start downloading on November 10 instead of November 12.

The exact start time depends on the platform. PlayStation 5 players will be able to download the game from midnight in their local time zone. Xbox Series X|S users will get access at a single global time, 12 AM GMT on November 10.

For players in North America, the Xbox pre-load will begin at 7 PM ET or 4 PM PT on November 9.

The full release date remains November 19, so players will still need to wait until launch day to start playing.

GTA 6 Could Require Up to 212 GB of Storage

Rockstar has also revealed the expected storage requirement for GTA 6. According to the company’s support information, players may need up to 212 GB of available space, depending on their device.

This is slightly higher than the 210 GB size recently spotted in a PlayStation Store backend leak. The new figure suggests that the earlier report was close to the final download size.

Rockstar has not confirmed the exact storage requirements for each console. However, the wording suggests that the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions could have different file sizes.

For comparison, the original PS5 model offers around 667 GB of usable storage. A game requiring 212 GB would take up nearly one-third of that available space.

Physical Copies Will Also Require a Download

Players planning to purchase a physical edition should also prepare for a large download. Reports indicate that the physical copies will include a download code instead of a traditional game disc.

This means physical buyers will need to download the game files just like digital players. These editions were previously scheduled to arrive on November 12, and that date reportedly remains unchanged.

A PC version of GTA 6 has not been officially announced by Rockstar. Recent reports suggest that it could arrive in the first quarter of 2027, but the company has yet to confirm a release window.

With the GTA 6 pre-load starting on November 10, console players now have a clear date to prepare their systems. Anyone planning to explore Vice City on launch day should make sure they have enough free storage before downloading the game.
