GTA 6 PC Release Could Arrive in Early 2027, Bringing Good News for PC Gamers

The GTA 6 PC release could arrive between January and March 2027, according to a new report, months after the planned console launch.

The GTA 6 PC release could happen sooner than many PC gamers expected. A new report suggests that Rockstar Games is targeting the first three months of 2027 for the PC version of Grand Theft Auto VI. If the reported schedule is correct, PC players may not have to wait too long after the game’s planned console launch.

According to GamesBeat, four industry sources familiar with Rockstar’s plans have pointed to a possible release window between January and March 2027. However, Rockstar Games has not officially confirmed a PC version or announced a release date. The reported timeline should therefore be treated as a rumor for now.

GTA 6 PC Release May Follow Console Launch by a Few Months

Grand Theft Auto VI is currently scheduled to launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026. If the reported PC release window is accurate, the game could arrive on PC just two to four months after its console debut.

This would be a much shorter wait than PC players experienced with Grand Theft Auto V. That game launched on consoles in September 2013, while the PC version arrived in April 2015.

Rockstar has not explained how it plans to handle the PC launch of GTA 6. However, an earlier release would be welcome news for players who prefer gaming on computers and want to experience the new entry without a long delay.

PC Version Could Open the Door for Roleplay Servers

The GTA 6 PC release could also be important for the game’s roleplaying community. GTA V has developed a large roleplay scene on PC, supported by FiveM, a multiplayer modification framework that allows players to create custom servers and experiences.

A PC version of GTA 6 could eventually help build a similar community around the new game. However, Rockstar has not announced a successor to FiveM or confirmed how custom servers and roleplay features will work in GTA 6.

The game’s online mode is another subject of interest. Some reports have pointed towards a possible launch in 2027, but Rockstar has not confirmed when the online component will arrive or whether it will launch alongside the PC version.

Earlier comments from the industry have also suggested that the PC port might arrive sooner than expected. A Corsair executive previously discussed a possible early release, although the company later clarified that the comments were speculative. VGC journalist Andy Robinson has also suggested that PC players may not face as long a wait as some expect.

Rockstar Has Yet to Confirm the PC Release Date

A launch between January and March 2027 would fall within Take-Two Interactive’s current fiscal year, which ends on March 31, 2027. However, this financial timing does not confirm when the PC version will be released.

For now, PC gamers should wait for an official announcement from Rockstar Games before making plans around the reported window. The company has confirmed the console launch date, but details about the PC version and its online features remain unannounced.

If the report proves accurate, the GTA 6 PC release could bring good news to players who want to explore Vice City on their gaming PCs in early 2027. Until Rockstar shares more details, January to March remains a reported target rather than a confirmed launch date.
