No human wrote the code for Epic Games’ new store. AI agents built all of it from text prompts, meaning it is completely vibe coded.
The preview is open for testing now. It follows Tim Sweeney’s announcement that Epic is going for “maximum AI acceleration.” According to Epic’s launcher preview post, the new store is faster and leaner than the current launcher. Epic also compared it with Steam and says it opens twice as fast on a cold start, which is the first launch.

Epic Games Store features are limited
Epic says the preview is light on features. Steam has community forums, discussions, news pages and a Workshop with mods for thousands of games. It also has built-in game recording, Big Picture mode and controller integration. Epic’s stores don’t have these.
Epic’s own summary of the release: “Think of it as a speedboat and not a yacht.”
