The team behind WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers may be gone for good, and it sounds like it all unravelled surprisingly fast.

According to a report originally published by Gamersky.com and later picked up by Save Point Gaming, Leenzee’s development team has been disbanded in the wake of director and producer Xia Siyuan’s departure from the studio. Siyuan was reportedly fired before the Chinese New Year, and wasted little time moving on, allegedly founding a new company within weeks of his exit.
Behind the scenes at Leenzee
Following Siyuan’s dismissal, the remaining developers were reportedly offered reassignment into outsourcing or support roles tied to other projects. The team declined. According to the report, many employees were subsequently laid off, with others placed into a transitional holding unit ahead of redistribution. Save Point Gaming noted that attempts to reach Leenzee for comment went unanswered.

What does this mean for WUCHANG?
The reported dissolution would explain why WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers has gone without a meaningful update for several months. It’s a frustrating situation, particularly given the game’s promising debut.
Whether Leenzee continues in any meaningful form remains unclear, but as things stand, WUCHANG looks set to be a one-and-done release, a real shame for what appeared to be a genuinely strong first outing.
