Ubisoft’s upcoming remake of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag is taking a different direction from the original, and not everyone’s going to be happy about it.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, set to be officially unveiled during Ubisoft’s April 23 showcase, will launch without the original game’s DLC or multiplayer mode. Ubisoft is positioning it as a “pure story-driven adventure,” keeping the focus squarely on Edward Kenway’s journey rather than the broader content that surrounded it.
In place of the cut content, the remake will reportedly introduce new story elements, systems, and content, though details on what those look like won’t be clear until the showcase itself.

Black Flag Resynced DLC isn’t coming later, either
It’s worth noting this isn’t a “we’ll add it post-launch” situation. Sources indicate Ubisoft has no plans to release the original DLC for Resynced, even if the game performs well commercially. If you want that content, the original game and its extras will still be available separately.
