DMZ PvE petition pushes Activision for a Solo-Friendly mode

A DMZ PvE petition is asking Activision and Infinity Ward to add a mode without player combat to Modern Warfare 4, as fans argue over the mode’s design.

A player has started a petition to bring PvE to Call of Duty’s DMZ, and it has turned an existing argument into a proper fight.

DMZ in Modern Warfare 4 is PvPvE, so you’ll almost always run into other squads in Hajin. Players who want to explore, finish missions and farm AI enemies without being hunted say there’s nothing for them. It’s the first Call of Duty in a while with no PvE mode like Spec Ops or Zombies.

The petition on Change.org asks Activision and Infinity Ward to add one. Its author says a PvE option would draw in players who like co-op and story-led play, and could open the door to new missions in the zone.

PvP fans aren’t happy about it

PvP fans have called PvE players “soft” for asking. I think that misses the point. Other extraction games like Escape from Tarkov and Marathon already offer PvE, and if those players move to their own mode, the main lobbies are left with people who want to fight anyway.

I reckon Infinity Ward adds something eventually. For now, DMZ is PvPvE only.
