Right, let’s be honest, every time a Take-Two executive opens their mouth about GTA 6, the whole internet holds its breath. So when CEO Strauss Zelnick cracked a joke about it at the iicon conference in Las Vegas, people paid attention.
His exact words were that, he reckons a lot of people will be “calling in sick on November 19.” That’s the current GTA 6 release date, by the way, in case you’ve somehow avoided the internet for the past year.
It’s a throwaway quip, sure. But think about it, Zelnick isn’t going to make that kind of comment if there’s any real doubt behind the scenes. Publicly committing to a sick day joke, only to then announce a delay shortly after, would be an absolute PR disaster for both Take-Two and Rockstar.

For a company that’s already weathered the chaos of a GTA 6 leak that somehow boosted Take-Two’s stock value by over a billion dollars, they’re clearly not in the business of making things worse for themselves.
GTA 6 waiting continues
November 19 is still months away, and yes, anything can happen. But right now, the signs are pointing in the right direction.
Start planning your sick days accordingly.
