AYANEO has officially revealed the KONKR Pocket Advance, a new retro handheld gaming device that combines a classic design with modern features. The announcement was made during a live stream hosted by AYANEO CEO Arthur, giving gamers their first proper look at the new handheld.
KONKR is AYANEO’s sub-brand that focuses on affordable handheld gaming devices. With the Pocket Advance, the company wants to give retro gaming fans a simple and enjoyable way to play their favorite classic games while keeping the look and feel of older handheld consoles alive.
The KONKR Pocket Advance takes clear inspiration from classic horizontal handheld systems. It features smooth curves, rounded edges, and a shape that fits comfortably in both hands. The textured finish also helps provide a secure grip during longer gaming sessions.
The handheld is compact enough to carry almost anywhere. It measures 151.3 x 82.4 x 22 mm and weighs around 224 grams, making it easy to slip into a pocket or small bag.
Buyers will be able to choose between two color options. Navy Blue offers a classic retro look, while Coral Orange gives the handheld a brighter and more colorful appearance.
On the front is a 3.5-inch LCD display with a 3:2 aspect ratio and a resolution of 960 x 640 pixels. The screen supports 4x pixel scaling, helping older games appear sharper while keeping their original style.
KONKR has also focused on delivering a comfortable gaming experience. The handheld includes a classic D-pad, ABXY buttons made with conductive rubber, and large shoulder buttons for better control. Separate L2 and R2 buttons are also included, making the device suitable for a wider range of games.
For connectivity, the KONKR Pocket Advance comes with a USB Type-C port that supports charging and data transfer, a microSD card slot for extra storage, WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and a traditional volume wheel.
The handheld also benefits from AYANEO’s software ecosystem. It includes AYASpace for managing games, AYAHome as the launcher, and AYASetting for system controls, giving users an easy way to manage their gaming experience.
