With Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 just days away, Epic Games has given players a proper look at what’s coming, and it seems like the new season is built around some very small, very powerful companions.
Little creatures, Big firepower
Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 is called “Runners”, and its big gimmick appears to be tiny creatures that hitch a ride on your back and supercharge whatever you’re holding. The gameplay trailer shows a shotgun one-shotting an entire car, and an assault rifle tearing straight through metal structures, both seemingly down to these little critters doing their thing.
There look to be traversal upgrades in the mix too, with the character jumping higher and moving faster than usual. Exactly how this all works mechanically isn’t fully clear yet, but the visual language is obvious: these creatures are your ticket to breaking the game’s normal limits.
Skins, sidekicks, and a BurntPeanut collab
The season’s cover art hints at what’s coming cosmetically, including what looks like a pen-and-ink John Wick variant alongside a dog rendered in the same distinctive style. There’s also a collaboration with BurntPeanut, who appears both as one of the creature companions and on the cover, so expect them to show up as a purchasable skin or bundle of some kind.
Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 kicks off on 6th June, following the Season 2 live event the night before.
