MSI has officially taken the wraps off the MSI Claw 8 EX AI+, a new gaming handheld built around Intel’s latest Panther Lake platform. The device is one of the first handhelds to use Intel Arc G3 graphics, bringing updated gaming performance to players who want a powerful gaming machine they can carry anywhere.
The new model arrives in a striking Void Purple finish and follows the release of the MSI Claw 8 AI+. While the overall design remains familiar, the biggest changes are found inside. MSI has equipped the handheld with Intel’s latest processor, featuring up to 14 CPU cores alongside 12 Xe3 graphics cores. This combination is expected to handle modern games and demanding applications with ease.

On the front, users will find an 8-inch IPS-level display with a Full HD+ resolution. The screen supports refresh rates between 48Hz and 120Hz and includes Variable Refresh Rate technology to help deliver smoother gameplay. With brightness reaching up to 500 nits, the display should remain comfortable to use both indoors and outdoors.
Memory options go up to 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM, while storage can be expanded through an M.2 Gen 4 SSD slot. This gives users fast loading times and enough room for a growing game library.
MSI has also focused on connectivity. The MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ supports WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 6, allowing for faster wireless networking and accessory support. The handheld includes two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a microSD card slot, and a 3.5mm headphone jack, giving players several options for connecting peripherals and external devices.

For audio, MSI has included dual 2W speakers with TD Audio technology and Hi-Res Audio support. This should provide a better sound experience whether users are gaming through the built-in speakers or using headphones.
Battery capacity remains unchanged from the previous generation at 80Wh. MSI has also managed to slightly reduce the weight of the device, making it a little lighter than its predecessor.
MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ gaming handheld availability and price
The company has not yet announced an official retail price. However, industry reports suggest the MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ could launch at around $1,499. Availability is expected to begin on June 23.
With upgraded Intel graphics, a fast display, and modern connectivity features, the MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ aims to be a strong option for gamers looking for high-end handheld performance.
