Crossfire gets a single-player story game from former Naughty Dog and Infinity Ward devs

Crossfire

Nearly five years of silence, and this is what That’s No Moon has been building. The studio, founded by veterans of Naughty Dog, Infinity Ward, and Sony with $100 million in Smilegate backing, has finally revealed its debut project: a single-player, story-driven action/adventure game set in the Crossfire universe.

A story worth following

You’re playing as Layla, a gun-for-hire whose recon mission in the Atlas Mountains falls apart fast. What starts as a contract turns into a fight for survival, and she’s forced into an uneasy alliance with Cross, an opposing operator who’s as dangerous as he is unwelcome. It’s a setup with real potential, leaning into tension and mistrust rather than straightforward heroics.

Crossfire

Tactical, not twitch

Crossfire gameplay sounds genuinely considered. That’s No Moon is pitching an Adaptive Cover system that treats the terrain itself as a weapon, letting players stealth, flank, and reposition on the fly. Combat is deliberately lethal, where a single bullet can decide things. Traversal through the Atlas Mountains is also being positioned as a standout mechanic in its own right.

No release date yet, and no confirmed platforms beyond Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X.
