Wuchang: Fallen Feathers director returns for sequel after studio collapse

WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers had a rough year. It launched in 2025, got some attention for its Soulslike combat and its lead character, but never quite lived up to the hype. Then came the real drama: director Xia Siyuan was reportedly pushed out of developer Leenzee, and the studio apparently fell apart soon after.

Now 505 Games, which owns the Wuchang IP, says the story isn’t finished. The publisher has announced a new partnership with Xia Siyuan and his new studio, Indolphinity, to make a sequel. 505 will fund it and handle global publishing, while Indolphinity takes the creative lead.

It’s a genuinely happy twist. Wuchang recently hit five million players despite all the studio chaos, so there’s clearly an audience waiting. Whether any of the old team follows Xia Siyuan to the new studio is still unclear. But the person who actually shaped the game is still in charge.

Let’s just hope this one doesn’t fall apart as fast as the last studio did.
