Blizzard confirms World of Warcraft Forever, beta hits next week

World of Warcraft Forever 1
Blizzard has confirmed World of Warcraft Forever at BlizzCon 2026, a classic-style MMORPG with new content, a beta on September 17, and a November 4 launch.

Blizzard just confirmed the game fans have been begging for. At BlizzCon 2026, the studio revealed World of Warcraft Forever, its answer to years of “WoW Classic Plus” rumours. And it’s not messing about with the release date.

World of Warcraft Forever sticks close to the old-school MMORPG formula that hooked millions of players decades ago. But this isn’t a museum piece. Blizzard says it plans to keep feeding it with new zones, over 1,000 fresh quests, better PvP, more dungeons, new professions, updated visuals, big new raids, and even a new race to play around with.

The level cap and when you can play

The level cap sits at 60. Blizzard insists the new content will work for both veterans and complete newcomers jumping in for the first time.

If you’re at BlizzCon in Anaheim this weekend, you can already play it on the show floor. Everyone else gets their shot on September 17, when the beta goes live. Full release lands November 4. That’s barely any wait at all.

It also managed to steal the spotlight from Blizzard’s other big reveal, a StarCraft comeback in a brand new format due in 2030. That’s how big this announcement was.
