SPINE’s new trailer dives into Tensor City’s cyberpunk underbelly

Spine - key art

Nekki has pulled back the curtain on Tensor City, the cyberpunk backdrop of its upcoming gun-fu title SPINE, and it looks every bit as chaotic as you’d hope.

Spine Tensor City trailer

The new trailer doesn’t just show off flashy combat. Tensor City is a place riddled with crime, class disparity, and systemic corruption, serving as the hunting ground for protagonist Redline as she tears through an autocratic AI regime in search of her kidnapped sibling. If it’s giving you strong Cyberpunk 2077 Night City vibes, you’re not alone, and that comparison is very much a compliment.

No Two Fights Play Out the Same

SPINE is a linear title, but Nekki is promising variety through shifting camera perspectives and open-ended combat sequences, all powered by their in-house Cascadeur animation engine. The studio says no two scenes should unfold identically, which is an ambitious claim worth keeping an eye on.

Physical Edition confirmed

In other SPINE news this week, Fireshine Games, the publisher behind Balatro and Lies of P, will be handling a physical release. Game director Dmitry Pimenov expressed genuine enthusiasm about the partnership.

SPINE is heading to Nintendo Switch 2, PC, PS5, and Xbox Series, with over 500,000 wishlists already secured. A release date is still pending.
