Street basketball is making a flashy comeback.
Play by Play Studios has dropped the first gameplay trailer for NBA The Run alongside a June 2026 release window, with a PlayStation blog post breaking down a host of new details about the upcoming 3v3 online title.
NBA The Run – Official Gameplay Trailer
In the zone and streetball legends
One of the bigger reveals is In The Zone, a momentum-based system that grants players access to signature abilities depending on their performance. Think of it like an ultimate ability from a hero shooter, with options split between offence and defence. Used at the right moment, it could be the difference-maker in a tight match.
Alongside that, Streetball Legends lets you rank up characters with distinct strengths and weaknesses. Bobbito Garcia has also been confirmed as a playable legend, which is a nice touch for anyone who knows their streetball history.

Modes, Cosmetics, and more
Knockout Tournaments drop players into four-round brackets across iconic street courts worldwide, with randomised rules keeping things unpredictable. There’s also a Shootaround practice mode and Knockout Friends — a private tournament supporting up to 48 players at launch.
The in-game shop uses earned currency called Cred, unlocking cosmetics like jerseys, dunks, taunts, and badges. Rookie Variants are the real draw, though, with the likes of Steph Curry in ’09 and Kevin Durant on the SuperSonics among the five rookie NBA All-Stars available.

The gameplay trailer itself leans into the spectacle, dribbles, alley oops, flames, and dunks galore. June 2026 can’t come soon enough.
