One month. That’s roughly how long Cold Iron Studios got to enjoy having Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 out in the wild before the layoffs arrived.
Parent company Enad Global 7 confirmed the cuts late last week. According to the information, at least 19 people have lost their jobs, which is a big chunk of a studio that had roughly 50 to 70 staff going in, based on public records. That’s somewhere between a quarter and a third of the team, and we can’t call that a light trim. You guys might want to check out their game’s trailer;
Cold Iron will continue the developement
Enad Global 7 says the cuts follow the original plan to lower the studio’s running costs and keep it sustainable. Cold Iron will reportedly stay focused on supporting Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2, including a Nintendo Switch 2 release now pencilled in for early 2027.
You guys noticed the original plan phrase? That suggests these cuts were coming no matter how the launch went, which is a bleak thing to admit about a game that had only just come out.

Cold Iron is still standing, at least. I just hope it has enough hands left to deliver that Switch 2 version.
