GMKtec EVO-X5 Pro Brings Powerful 320B AI Support to a Compact Desktop

GMKtec EVO-X5 Pro brings 192GB unified memory, Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 and support for up to 320B AI models in a compact desktop.

GMKtec has officially launched the GMKtec EVO-X5 Pro, a powerful compact desktop designed for users who want to run large AI models locally. The new system combines AMD’s Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 processor with up to 192GB of unified memory and is now claimed to support offline AI models with up to 320 billion parameters.

The EVO-X5 Pro was originally designed around 300B-parameter AI models. GMKtec says its latest software and hardware tuning has pushed that limit further, allowing the system to handle models up to 320B parameters when the right model, quantization, software, and system settings are used.

This makes the new desktop particularly interesting for AI developers, researchers, businesses, and professionals who want to keep AI workloads running locally instead of depending completely on cloud services.

Built for demanding local AI workloads

At the heart of the GMKtec EVO-X5 Pro is the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495. The chip features 16 Zen 5 CPU cores and 32 threads, with boost speeds reaching up to 5.20 GHz. It also includes Radeon 8065S graphics with 40 compute units and hardware ray tracing.

For AI workloads, the processor comes with an AMD XDNA 2 NPU capable of delivering up to 55 TOPS of AI performance.

One of the biggest features is the system’s memory setup. GMKtec offers up to 192GB of LPDDR5X-8533 unified memory, with memory bandwidth reaching up to 273 GB/s. Up to 160GB can be assigned as graphics memory, giving the integrated GPU access to a large pool of shared memory.

That large memory pool is important for running AI models that would normally require a much more expensive system with dedicated graphics cards and large amounts of VRAM.

GMKtec says the EVO-X5 Pro can now run up to 320B-parameter LLMs fully offline. Actual performance and compatibility will depend on the specific model, quantization method, software, and system configuration, so the 320B figure should not be treated as a guarantee that every 320B model will run in the same way.

Local AI processing can also provide practical benefits for businesses and developers. Data does not need to be sent to a cloud service for every task, while local processing can reduce dependence on an internet connection and provide more control over private information.

Enterprise features and fast connectivity

The EVO-X5 Pro is not only aimed at AI enthusiasts. GMKtec has included several features intended for professional and enterprise environments.

The system supports AMD DASH, includes a dedicated dTPM 2.0 security chip, and offers operating-system-independent out-of-band remote management. These features allow IT teams to monitor and manage systems remotely, which can be useful when multiple machines are deployed in different locations.

GMKtec has also validated the EVO-X5 Pro for continuous 24/7 operation.

Connectivity is another major part of the system. It includes two USB4 V2 ports with speeds of up to 80 Gbps, two additional USB4 ports supporting up to 40 Gbps, and two 10GbE LAN ports.

The desktop also supports eGPU connections and multi-system clustering, giving users options to add more computing power for heavier workloads. Storage can be configured up to 24TB, while the system supports display output up to 8K.

For cooling, GMKtec has fitted the machine with a vapor chamber and triple-fan cooling system. The chassis is made from CNC-machined metal, giving the EVO-X5 Pro a compact but premium desktop design.

GMKtec first showed the GMKtec EVO-X5 Pro at IFA 2026 in Berlin, where the company demonstrated its local AI capabilities. The system also received the PCWELT Best of IFA 2026 and SmartZone BEST OF IFA 2026 Innovation Award.

GMKtec EVO-X5 Pro price and availability

The GMKtec EVO-X5 Pro officially launches on September 28, 2026. The 192GB RAM and 2TB NVMe SSD configuration is priced at $6,799, while the 192GB RAM and 4TB NVMe SSD version costs $7,099.

With its large unified memory pool, powerful AMD processor, fast networking, remote management features, and support for very large local AI models, the EVO-X5 Pro is positioned as a compact desktop for serious AI workloads rather than a typical mini PC.
