Rockstar just gave us the biggest look at GTA 6 yet, and it broke Netflix on the way in.
The 26-minute Extended Look, streamed on Netflix, showed off Jason and Lucia’s story across nearly half an hour of footage, all captured on PS5. There’s driving, shootouts, snack breaks, backyard wrestling, and a soundtrack stacked with Sexyy Red, Depeche Mode, and Phil Collins. It ends with Jason and Lucia working security at a Mega Mundo launch event that goes very wrong, guns out, blood everywhere, and Lucia looking like she’s in real trouble right as the footage cuts to something big about the world (I’m not spoiling it here, go watch it).
Here’s the thing though: the hype was so intense Netflix itself buckled. The stream crashed right at 3 pm ET when the footage was meant to go live. That’s despite weeks of leaks already doing the rounds, which tells you people didn’t care that they’d basically already seen it. Rockstar’s still dealing with the fallout from what it’s calling the “CYBERLEEK” situation, and Xbox has publicly backed them on it. If you missed the Netflix slot, the footage lands on YouTube at 9pm.
GTA 6 – Extended Look
Everyone’s talking about Lucia (and one mysterious goth girl)
Predictably, the internet’s main takeaway wasn’t the gunfights; it was Lucia. Fresh screenshots put her front and centre, and social media promptly lost its mind over her and an unnamed tattooed NPC who shows up late in the trailer. Bad news on both counts: Lucia’s not real, and the tattooed girl might not even be romanceable.
Because yes, GTA 6 has actual relationship mechanics now. According to IGN, Jason and Lucia’s romance is optional but grows through shared activities like shopping and robberies outside missions. Ignore their texts and the relationship takes a hit. You can also call in your partner for backup mid-mission, which is a nice touch for a game that’s usually all chaos, no romance.

GTA 6 map is enormous, but don’t expect 60fps
On the technical side, Brazilian creator DavyJones, who got early access at Rockstar North, reported that Vice City alone is twice the size of Los Santos, with the surrounding areas 11 times bigger. Leonida overall is apparently over 10 times more densely populated than GTA V’s map, so expect small towns and quieter regions like the Leonida Keys and Mount Kalaga to actually matter this time, not just sit empty.
The catch is frame rate. Rockstar North’s Rob Nelson wouldn’t rule out a 30FPS lock even on PS5 Pro, saying only that the team would need to “clarify” the technical details. GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 both launched at 30fps before later hitting 60fps on newer hardware, so there’s precedent for it improving down the line, just not at launch.

GTA 6 releases November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Less than three months out, and somehow the wait still feels long.
