GTA 6 PC Launch Could Come Earlier as Console Supply Concerns Grow

Rockstar Games could release GTA 6 PC sooner than expected as concerns grow over console availability and rising hardware prices.

Grand Theft Auto VI is currently expected to launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in November. Like previous Rockstar releases, many players have expected the PC version to arrive much later. However, a new industry rumor suggests Rockstar may be considering a shorter wait this time.

The idea was recently discussed by Andy Robinson during the VGC Podcast. While talking about the current problems affecting the gaming hardware market, Robinson suggested that Rockstar could “push the PC version up.”

He also pointed to growing industry chatter that the GTA 6 PC release could happen earlier than players expect because of the unusual situation surrounding gaming hardware.

Why Rockstar Could Bring GTA 6 to PC Earlier

Rockstar has traditionally treated its PC releases differently from console launches. GTA V, for example, arrived on PC around two years after its original console release.

GTA 6 could follow a similar strategy, but the market is now facing a very different situation.

PC hardware prices and availability have become major concerns, while console demand is also expected to increase around the launch of GTA 6. If getting a new console becomes more difficult or expensive, a PC version could give Rockstar another way to reach players.

That could make an earlier GTA 6 PC launch a more attractive option for the company.

GTA 6 Is Already Affecting Console Demand

There are also signs that demand for GTA 6 is already having an effect on the console market.

Recent reports claimed that PlayStation 5 Pro stock disappeared quickly, with a later restock appearing at significantly higher prices. Other retailers and analysts have also warned that console supplies could become tight when GTA 6 arrives.

If those shortages become serious, Rockstar could face a simple problem: millions of potential players may want to buy GTA 6 but may struggle to find an affordable console.

A PC release would open another major market for the game.

The GTA 6 PC Version Is Still Unconfirmed

Despite the growing speculation, Rockstar has not confirmed an earlier PC release for GTA 6.

The game is still officially expected to arrive first on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. There is also no confirmed release date for the PC version at this point.

Robinson’s comments should therefore be treated as industry speculation rather than an announcement from Rockstar.

Still, the situation is worth watching. GTA 6 is expected to be one of the biggest game launches ever, and unusual hardware shortages could give Rockstar a reason to rethink its traditional console-first release strategy.

For PC players, an earlier launch would be excellent news, but for now, they should not assume that the PC version will arrive alongside the console release.
