iPhone 18 Pro Could Bring Big Upgrades With a Higher Price

Reports suggest Apple could increase the price of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. The company has already faced higher costs for components, and the new iPhones are expected to use more expensive hardware.

iPhone 18 Pro may get a higher price

Apple has increased prices on several of its products in recent months, including Macs and iPads. The iPhone was not affected at the time, but that could change with the iPhone 18 series.

Analyst Jeff Pu reportedly expects the standard iPhone 18 to cost between $1,349 and $1,399. The iPhone 18 Pro Max could start between $1,449 and $1,499.

For comparison, the iPhone 17 reportedly started at $1,099, while the iPhone 17 Pro Max started at $1,199. If these estimates are correct, the new models could be noticeably more expensive.

New camera and A20 Pro chip could add to the cost

One of the biggest changes expected with the iPhone 18 Pro is its camera system. Reports claim Apple could introduce a variable aperture main camera, allowing the lens to adjust how much light enters the sensor.

Some reports also suggest that the new camera sensors could cost significantly more than those used in the previous generation.

The iPhone 18 Pro is also expected to use Apple’s A20 Pro chip. This chip is reportedly set to use TSMC’s new 2nm manufacturing process. Moving to a newer and more advanced process could increase production costs.

Apple may find ways to control the price

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has also suggested that a price increase is likely, while a Wall Street Journal analysis reportedly points toward a price of around $1,399 for the new model.

For now, these prices are only estimates. Apple has not confirmed the final pricing of the iPhone 18 Pro lineup.

The new phones are expected to be announced in September, so buyers will not have to wait much longer for the official details. If the reports are accurate, Apple could deliver some important upgrades this year, but customers may have to pay more to get them.
