The KyTyPS5 emulator can now run Gran Turismo 7 on PC with no visible graphical glitches. No official PlayStation 5 PC port exists, so this is a notable step for the emulator, which has already been used to play games like the Demon’s Souls remake and Astro Bot.
Gameplay footage shows a clean picture
A YouTube channel called Unreal Gaming PC shared a video of the game running on the emulator. The test system uses an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 and 64 GB of RAM, with the usa-ratt d5bb89e build of the emulator.
This is the first time Gran Turismo 7 has been shown running on KyTyPS5. A game’s first emulated run normally has many visual errors, so a glitch-free result is rare.
Not playable yet
The framerate stays below 20 FPS in the video, so the game still needs better performance before it can be played properly. The Demon’s Souls remake went from booting to running above 60 FPS on the emulator, so Gran Turismo 7 could improve in a similar way.
