SAW: Genesis was supposed to hit Early Access this quarter. Instead, fans are getting a longer wait, with the multiplayer horror game now pushed to Q1 2027.
The developers broke the news on social media, and to their credit, they didn’t hide behind vague corporate speak. They said the extra time is about getting the game right, not just shipping it on schedule. Fair enough. SAW is a franchise people actually care about, and a rushed launch would’ve done it dirty.
SAW’s delay actually make sense
The team says they’ve spent recent months gathering feedback and stress-testing the game across different conditions. Some of that feedback was glowing, some of it flagged specific performance issues that needed fixing. For a 3v1 game where one player runs the show as the judge while the others scramble to solve puzzles and escape, performance hiccups aren’t a minor gripe. They can wreck the entire experience.

I’d rather see a delay than a broken launch. Early Access games that stumble out of the gate rarely recover the goodwill they lose, and SAW: Genesis clearly isn’t trying to be that cautionary tale.
Q1 2027 is a fair way off, but if it means the multiplayer holds up under pressure, I’ll take the wait.
