Sony insists GTA 6 will play best on PS5, not Xbox

Sony isn’t shy about picking a side in the console wars, and this time it’s put GTA 6 right in the middle of it. A new PlayStation Blog post claims Rockstar’s hotly anticipated sequel will simply run better on PS5 than it will anywhere else, despite Xbox players getting the exact same game on the same day.

The timing lines up neatly with Rockstar confirming pricing and pre-order bonuses for the Ultimate Edition. Sony’s post leans hard on its partnership with Rockstar, stating that GTA 6 will take advantage of PS5’s features to deliver a deeply engaging single-player experience when it launches on November 19.

What the DualSense actually adds

Most of the blog centres on the controller rather than the console itself. Haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and the pad’s built-in speaker are all promised to translate Jason and Lucia’s story into something players can physically feel, not just watch unfold on a screen.

Audio gets a boost too, courtesy of Tempest 3D AudioTech, which should make Leonida’s streets, swamps, and crowds feel layered rather than flat. Loading times are part of the sell as well, with the PS5’s SSD promising near instant transitions around the open world, cutting down on the waiting that’s plagued open world games for years.

No confirmed differences beyond the pitch

Sony hasn’t pointed to any feature that’s exclusive to PS5, just ones it claims will feel better there. Rockstar itself hasn’t drawn any line between the two versions, and nothing here suggests Xbox players are missing GTA 6 content. For now, it’s marketing, not confirmation.
