GTA 6 Pre-Orders are live in New Zealand, and it’s PS5 Pro Enhanced

New Zealand has just won the GTA 6 waiting game, and the freshly live store page is already giving away more than a release date.

Pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto 6 have officially opened, with New Zealand getting first access thanks to its time zone advantage over the rest of the world. Fans browsing the updated PlayStation Store listing spotted something else, too: a PS5 Pro Enhanced tag attached to the game.

Sony has already pushed GTA 6 as the best place to play, pointing to DualSense support and 3D AudioTech as headline features. Practically no loading screens on PS5 has been part of that pitch too, and the PS5 Pro tag suggests there’s more in store.

Rockstar and Sony haven’t detailed what the enhancement actually involves, so frame rates and resolution targets remain speculative for now. Going by other PS5 Pro titles like Resident Evil 9, expect upscaling through PSSR, with many hoping for a stable 60fps alongside near-4K visuals.

That upgrade isn’t cheap. PS5 Pro prices have climbed to $900 this year, a steep ask for anyone without one already.

Pre-orders cover both the standard edition and the pricier Ultimate Edition, which bundles in extra single-player content, a decision that’s already split opinion online. Physical copies, meanwhile, will ship with a download code rather than a disc.

Every other region gets pre-order access within 24 hours. GTA 6 launches November 19, priced at $80 for the base edition, assuming nothing changes between now and then.
