ASUS has officially launched the new ROG Strix SCAR 18, bringing one of its most powerful gaming laptops to the market. Designed for gamers, creators, developers, and power users, the 2026 model combines the latest Intel and NVIDIA hardware with a major boost in performance. The laptop delivers up to 320W total system power, making it well suited for demanding games, content creation, and AI tasks.
The new laptop is powered by the Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus processor and can be configured with up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU. It also supports the latest NVIDIA technologies, including DLSS 4 and Multi-Frame Generation, helping improve gaming performance and visual quality. Compared to the previous generation, the total system power has increased from 255W to 320W, while the graphics card can reach up to 175W TGP for better gaming and creative performance.

To handle this extra power, ASUS has upgraded the cooling system with a larger vapor chamber, redesigned fans, and ultra-thin copper cooling fins. The laptop uses multiple air intake areas and rear exhaust vents to keep temperatures lower during long gaming sessions. ASUS has also added dedicated cooling for PCIe 5.0 SSDs to help maintain fast storage speeds under heavy workloads.

The 18-inch 4K 240Hz ROG Nebula HDR display is another major highlight. It features mini LED technology with more than 2,000 local dimming zones, up to 1,600 nits of HDR brightness, and 100% DCI-P3 color coverage for rich and accurate colors. ASUS has also introduced its new ROG Nebula ELMB technology, which improves motion clarity in fast-moving games while still supporting variable refresh rates for smoother gameplay.
ASUS has made upgrading the laptop much easier with a tool-free bottom panel that gives users quick access to the memory and storage slots. The company also includes its ROG Q-Latch design, allowing SSD installation without using screws. Connectivity includes dual Thunderbolt 5 ports, 2.5G Ethernet, HDMI 2.1 FRL, WiFi 7, and several USB ports for connecting modern accessories and external displays.
