Rayman Legends Retold delayed to December 2026

Rayman Legends Retold
Rayman Legends Retold won't launch in October after all. The platformer has been pushed to December 3, 2026, despite already going gold.

Well, that October date didn’t last long.

Rayman Legends Retold was set to launch on October 1, but the developers have now pushed it back to December 3, 2026, according to the game’s official X account. The odd part is that the game has already gone gold, so this isn’t a “it’s not ready” delay, it’s a “we want more polish” one. The team says they need extra time so “every detail gets the care it deserves,” which is a nice way of saying they’re not taking chances with a beloved franchise.

The game is still coming to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2 and PC.

Why wait if it’s already gold?

Fair question. Developers sometimes use this extra runway for last-minute balancing, bug fixes, or timing reasons rather than core development. Speaking of timing, December 3 conveniently sidesteps GTA 6’s launch window, a slot most publishers are avoiding like the plague right now.

There’s a bit of a silver lining for impatient fans. A Game Overview trailer drops on September 22, alongside hands-on impressions from select creators and press. So at least there’s something to chew on before the new date rolls around.

I think a couple extra months for polish beats a rushed platformer any day.
