The Blood of Dawnwalker had a cracking launch, selling over a million copies in its first week, and a sequel is already brewing. But not everyone was happy with the difficulty options on offer, and it turns out that’s about to change.
Game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz told Eurogamer that an October patch will add a brand new, easier Story mode. The current Story difficulty is getting renamed (something like “Demanding,” apparently), making room for a proper easy mode aimed at players who just want the narrative without the combat grind. Once it lands, the game will have five difficulty levels in total: Story, Demanding, Fair, Challenging, and Duelist. A bit of a mouthful, but options are options.

That’s not all the patch is bringing, either. Tomaszkiewicz also confirmed bug fixes, smoother combat, better NPC behaviour (wild animals should stop being such a nuisance when you’re just trying to run past them), and a PC performance boost.
There’s more on the horizon too, with Tomaszkiewicz teasing that Blood of Dawnwalker will have a New Game Plus and extra enemy variety, though he wouldn’t confirm anything solid. His reasoning: “we will have the proper beats with our publishing team, and if I tell you more, they will kill me.” Fair enough, Konrad.
