HP GT06 Mechanical Keyboard Brings 8KHz Polling to a Full Size Design

HP has introduced the new HP GT06 mechanical keyboard, giving gamers a full size option with an impressive 8KHz polling rate. While many gaming keyboards now use smaller layouts, the HP GT06 keeps the traditional 106 key design while adding modern gaming features.

The new keyboard supports wired, 2.4GHz wireless, and Bluetooth connections, making it suitable for both gaming and everyday desktop use.

HP GT06 offers an 8KHz polling rate

The main highlight of the HP GT06 is its 8,000Hz polling rate. This allows the keyboard to send input data to the PC more frequently, which can help provide faster response during gaming.

The keyboard uses a gasket-mounted design with seven layers of internal padding. HP has also fitted it with double-shot PBT keycaps and RGB backlighting with 16 lighting effects.

The GT06 is available with Kailh, Seiya, and Feather switch options, giving users different choices depending on their typing and gaming preferences.

Full size layout with useful controls

Unlike many newer gaming keyboards that focus on compact layouts, the HP GT06 comes with a full 106-key layout. This makes it a more practical choice for users who still want a dedicated number pad.

A multifunction knob is placed on the right side of the keyboard. It can be used to adjust volume, while a single press can mute the audio.

HP also includes Music Rhythm Lighting Effect 3.0, which allows the RGB lighting to react to music and other sounds.

The keyboard has two-stage adjustable feet, allowing users to change its typing angle for a more comfortable position.

Large battery and three connection options

The HP GT06 features a large 12,000mAh battery. HP claims that it can provide up to 30 days of use on a single charge, although the company has not explained the exact conditions behind this figure.

The claimed battery life is likely based on specific usage settings, potentially with RGB lighting reduced or turned off.

For connectivity, users can choose between a wired USB connection, 2.4GHz wireless, and Bluetooth. This gives the keyboard more flexibility for use across PCs and other compatible devices.

Software and price

Users can customize the HP GT06 through web-based software or a dedicated client program. This allows them to manage keyboard settings and lighting features.

The HP GT06 is currently available in China through JD.com for 310 yuan, which is around $43. HP has not yet announced international pricing or availability.
