Behaviour Interactive is building a realistic Sci-Fi FPS

Behaviour Interactive is hiring for an unannounced AAA sci-fi FPS in Unreal Engine, and the job listing hints at a very high realism bar.

The studio behind Dead by Daylight might be swapping the fog for something with more lasers. A fresh job listing suggests Behaviour Interactive is working on an unannounced AAA sci-fi FPS, and I’m already curious.

What Behaviour Interactive’s job listing says

The Montreal studio is hiring a Senior Technical Animator for a AAA sci-fi shooter built in Unreal Engine. The listing says the game has a “high realism bar”. That could mean realistic graphics, but it might also point to physics or other mechanics. We don’t know yet.

The listing also asks for experience building rigs for “bipedal and non-bipedal characters, including mechanical setups”. So expect more than just human enemies. Think robots, creatures, or both. It also wants knowledge of Unreal Control Rig for procedural animation, which hints at the tools the team plans to use.

Meet Your Maker, released in 2023, is the closest thing in the studio’s back catalogue. This sounds far bigger. Nothing else Behaviour Interactive has out or in the works matches it.

Worth remembering that Behaviour Interactive often co-develops games with big publishers like Microsoft, Sony, EA, Warner, Netflix and Take-Two. A publisher could be involved here, and that might change what the final game looks like.

I’d keep expectations low for now. Project T was cancelled in 2024, and a job ad is not a guarantee. If it does survive, my guess is a reveal at The Game Awards 2026, or a showcase in 2027.

Until then, we wait. Probably with a flashlight, out of habit.
