Remedy Entertainment has shared the first proper look at Control Resonant’s New Game Plus mode, and there’s quite a bit going on under the hood.
Abilities you’re taking into your second run
According to a new PlayStation blog post, players will carry over Aberrant upgrades, health and combat resource improvements, unlocked supernatural combat abilities, talents, and artifacts into New Game Plus. The one thing you’re leaving behind is Traversal abilities. Remedy says those are tied directly to the story, so they reset with each new run.
The mode is also designed to expand your build options rather than just replay the same one. New talent nodes unlock as you progress through New Game Plus, opening up new ways to combine abilities and Aberrant attacks. You can even grab multiple combat abilities from the same boss, which should shake up how you approach the game on repeat playthroughs.

A fourth artifact slot and tougher enemies
Control Resonant uses an Artifact system, equippable items with passive modifiers covering survivability, combat, exploration, and resource management. Your first run gives you three slots. New Game Plus opens a fourth, giving you more room to experiment with different builds.
The world itself shifts, too. Enemies get tougher, encounters change, and some bosses pick up new behaviours that force you to rethink your approach entirely.

Replayability baked in
Remedy says Control Resonant has been “built to reward returning players.” World Quests and bounties are replayable, missed collectibles remain findable, and certain side stories and conversations can have different outcomes depending on how you play.
Control Resonant is targeting a Q2 2026 launch window, though no exact date has been announced yet.
