After more than a year of silence since the last trailer, Rockstar has confirmed an extended look at GTA 6 for August 27. In a genuinely odd move, Netflix gets it before YouTube does.
The extended look airs on Netflix at 3 PM ET on the 27th, then lands on Rockstar’s own YouTube channel six hours later at 9 PM ET. Nobody’s said what’s actually in it yet, which is peak Rockstar behaviour, but the “extended” label has plenty of people hoping for actual gameplay this time rather than another moody trailer.
Why Netflix first?
That’s the real head-scratcher here. Rockstar hasn’t explained the streaming tie-in, and there’s no confirmation on what exactly counts as “extended.” Still, the timing isn’t random. Take-Two’s CEO said earlier this year that marketing for GTA 6 would ramp up this summer, and this looks like the start of that push.
