WARDOGS early access is live; consoles coming in 2028

WARDOGS launches in early access on PC today at $39.99, with BULKHEAD confirming a 2028 release on PS5 and Xbox.

WARDOGS is finally out, and BULKHEAD has confirmed console players won’t be left out forever.

The large-scale shooter dropped into early access on PC yesterday for $39.99, and alongside the launch trailer, BULKHEAD confirmed PS5 and Xbox versions are coming in 2028. You can wishlist the game on both platforms right now, even though you’ll be waiting a fair while to actually play it there.

WARDOGS – Launch trailer

No Microtransactions, for now

BULKHEAD CEO Joe Brammer said the game is “rough around the edges” and admitted it’s got a long way to go, which is refreshingly honest for a launch day statement. The studio says it wants players talking to each other and having proper FPS fun, and early playtests back that up. WARDOGS pulled in hundreds of thousands of concurrent players during testing, and streamers have clearly taken to its emergent gameplay.

There’ll be zero microtransactions during early access, which is probably why the $39.99 price tag feels a bit steep for an unfinished game. BULKHEAD has confirmed the price will actually drop by the time WARDOGS hits 1.0, whenever that ends up being.

For now, PC players get first dibs. Everyone else just has to wait until 2028.
