007 First Light’s first big update adds new guns and fixes

007 First Light TacSim

007 First Light just got its first proper update, and IO Interactive clearly spent the time since launch reading the complaints list.

007 First Light Update #1: Behind Enemy Lines

The patch sorts out a chunk of annoying bugs first. Bond will no longer randomly walk off ledges at the end of Bluffing, the gadget input buffer’s been tightened so you stop wasting resources by accident, and PlayStation players get ADS working properly again after opening the system menu mid-aim. Xbox owners also get a fix for wireless controllers refusing to reconnect without a full restart, which is the kind of thing that shouldn’t need a patch but here we are.

TacSim gets some love too. The Mission Selector, Gadget Cart, Outfit Selector, and Intel Shop were reportedly freezing up on players, and that’s now fixed, alongside an issue that blocked story chapters entirely when picking Tactical Simulation offline.

Stability’s had a proper pass as well, with crash fixes for Xbox Series S covering the Challenges menu, the “Time to Die” boss fight, the “All the Time in the World” cinematic, and Advanced Close Combat Training. A crash tied to using the Red Room Shotgun in TacSim is sorted too.

New weapons and outfit join TacSim

Then there’s the new content, which is really the headline here. Two new TacSim Escalations arrive: The Workshop and Extraction Avenues, both three-tier missions built around stealth and clean extraction.

You’ve also got new gear to grind for: the Stormberg 50’cal, the DRX-2 Machine Pistol, the DRS-7 Silenced SMG, and the Diamond in the Rough outfit, all locked behind higher clearance levels and a hefty Intel price.

It’s a solid first update. Fixes the game clearly needed, plus enough new toys to make the grind worth it again.
