With just a month to go until its release, IO Interactive isn’t letting up on 007 First Light hype. A newly released trailer titled “Rules of Spycraft” has pulled back the curtain on some of the game’s most exciting gameplay systems, and it turns out Bond has quite a few tricks up his sleeve.
007 First Light – Rules of Spycraft trailer
Blend In or Break Out
The trailer opens on the art of staying undetected. Players will need to navigate hostile environments by blending into crowds, talking their way past security, and eavesdropping to gather intel. When words fail, stealth takes over, sneaking, takedowns, and parkour-driven infiltration routes are all on the table.

Always be prepared
Between missions, players can spend time building relationships with allies and stocking up at the gadgets lab. IO Interactive has confirmed several pieces of tech, including the Q-Lens, Q-Watch, Dart Phone, and Smoke Pod, each presumably serving a specific tactical purpose when things get complicated.
Improvise and Eliminate
Sometimes blending in just doesn’t cut it. The trailer highlights environmental combat, using objects as weapons, shoving enemies into surroundings, and making full use of Bond’s licence to kill. A Focus ability also lets players briefly slow time for precision shooting, adding a satisfying layer of tactical depth.
Tac sim adds replayability
Perhaps the most intriguing reveal is Tac Sim, a competitive mode where players test their skills against others and earn XP for upgrades. IO Interactive has confirmed it’ll receive ongoing content updates post-launch, suggesting long-term support is already in the pipeline.

007 First Light launches next month, though some story details have already leaked following an Indonesian ratings board mishap.
