If Snoop Dogg wasn’t enough, Stranger Than Heaven just got a whole lot bigger. Tupac Shakur has officially been announced for the upcoming music-driven RPG, with the news dropping during Summer Game Fest 2026 alongside a confirmed release date of January 15, 2027.

Snoop Dogg takes centre stage
Snoop Dogg made a live appearance at Summer Game Fest to discuss his role in the game. He plays Orpheus, a smuggler he describes as “cutthroat and charismatic” which, honestly, sounds like a perfect fit. His son is also in the game, though the details of that role are still under wraps.
Beyond Stranger Than Heaven, Snoop used the stage time to tease Death Row Games, a new venture he’s hoping to share more about in the future. He also confirmed he’s a big Sega fan, which makes this collaboration feel a little less surprising in hindsight.

Music, management, and mayhem
At its core, Stranger Than Heaven follows Makoto Daito, an entertainer of American and Japanese heritage who teams up with his friend Yu Shinjo to partner with Orpheus. The story leans heavily on music, with players also managing live shows throughout the campaign.

Combat is where things get interesting, players control each of Makoto’s arms independently, adding a layer of tactical depth that sets it apart from your typical RPG setup.
