The show kicked off with the long-rumoured Resident Evil Veronica, a full remake of Code: Veronica, confirmed for 2027. It closed with an even bigger moment: Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the official title for FF7 Remake Part 3, launching spring 2027 simultaneously on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.


The biggest reveals
These were the ones that genuinely stopped the scroll:
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin – PlatinumGames is developing it. Sounds almost too good to be true.
- Guild Wars 3 – Confirmed for PC and PS5, beta testing slated for fall 2027.
- Tifa in Street Fighter 6 – Joining as part of Year 4 DLC alongside Yasmine, Arjun, and Bosch.
- Stellar Blade: Blood Rain – A full sequel with a brand-new protagonist. Nobody saw this coming.


New games announced at Summer Game Fest 2026
Fresh announcements with no prior expectation:
- Cuphead Sequel – Early stages, but Studio MDHR confirmed it’s in development.
- gen Atlas – Fumito Ueda (Ico, Shadow of the Colossus) returns with a sci-fi epic featuring enormous robots.
- Gundam Rogue Orbit – Fast-paced action game set in a brand-new Gundam timeline, due 2027.
- Saw: Genesis – Asymmetrical multiplayer horror from Bloober Team, early access this fall.
- Haex – Sci-fi game from some of The Division’s developers, due 2027.
- Blood Message – Narrative action-adventure set in Tang Dynasty China, coming to PC and consoles.
- Clutch – Open-world racer from ex-Forza Horizon developers, spring 2027.
- CrossFire – Single-player story game from former Call of Duty developers.
- 1666 Amsterdam – From one of Assassin’s Creed’s original creators. Free prologue available now on Steam.
- Mighty Cuphead Adventure – A separate 8-bit retro platformer also announced alongside the sequel.
- Among Us Story: On Guard – Standalone narrative single-player game, coming to PC and Nintendo Switch.
- Hot Wheels Infinite Rush – Open-world Hot Wheels game, out September 24, 2026.

Sequels and follow-ups
Games we knew were coming, now with more detail:
- Final Fantasy VII Revelation – FF7 Remake Part 3, spring 2027, day-one multiplatform.
- Resident Evil Veronica – Code: Veronica remake, confirmed for 2027.
- Alien: Isolation 2 – Looks genuinely terrifying. Set on a planetary station this time.
- Attack on Titan 3 – Covers the full storyline for the first time, coming to PS5, Switch 2, Xbox, and PC.
- The Wolf Among Us 2 – Finally arriving in 2027, with a remastered original out holiday 2026.
- Stranger Than Heaven – RGG Studio’s next game, out January 15, 2027. Tupac Shakur is in it. Genuinely.
- Lords of the Fallen 2 – Steam release confirmed for this fall.
- Virtua Fighter Crossroads – RGG Studio’s Virtua Fighter revival, story-focused, due 2027.
- Star Wars: Zero Company – Turn-based strategy with Anakin Skywalker, out August 27.

Expansions and updates
Existing games getting new content:
- Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance – Full expansion with Master Rank and Elder Dragons, due 2027.
- Mafia: The Old Country – Man of Honor – Two new story chapters, out August 14, 2026.
- Palworld 1.0 – Full launch on July 10.
- RuneScape: Dragonwilds – September 15 release date confirmed, now coming to Xbox Series X/S too.
- The Blood of Dawnwalker – New trailer for the vampire RPG from ex-Witcher 3 developers.
