Capcom has been keeping quiet about Resident Evil Veronica for a while now, but that silence is over.
Resident Evil Veronica reveal trailer
The open secret gets official
Rumours of a Resident Evil Veronica remake have been circulating for some time, with leaks pointing to it being one of two remakes Capcom had in the pipeline alongside Resident Evil Zero. Fans suspected, insiders hinted, and yet nothing was confirmed, until Summer Game Fest changed that today.
Capcom took the stage to finally pull back the curtain, revealing the remake is real, it’s coming, and players won’t be waiting forever. A 2027 release window was confirmed at the end of the reveal trailer, which also gave a proper first look at what the updated game will look like.

The footage shown at the event highlighted significantly improved visuals, sharper fidelity in cutscenes and what appeared to be early gameplay elements. It’s looking like a faithful, modern reimagining of the original rather than a dramatic overhaul.
For those unfamiliar with the story, Resident Evil Veronica follows Claire Redfield searching for her brother Chris. After being captured and sent to Rockfort Prison, she finds herself in the middle of a T-virus outbreak, zombies, scarce ammo, and the deeply unsettling Ashford twins all standing between her and the truth about Umbrella.

Resident Evil Veronica is a proper return for a long-overlooked chapter of the series.
